[New!] Introducing 2 revolutionary planning features

The countdown is over. Our two newest features are now live in your Cogsy account and ready for you to use!

Read on for a full rundown of what these features include.

Production Orders

With supply chains disrupted and so uncertain, working from one PO to the next may lead to stockouts and hurt your customer’s experience. With our Production Orders feature, gain better visibility into your future inventory needs by estimating your purchase orders for the next 12 months.

Planning into the future gives your team time to plan accordingly. Our heatmap will show you which SKUs have good coverage and which don’t, and we’ll recommend which SKUs need a production order.

You can then leverage that information to give your vendors predictability and improve those key relationships to negotiate better terms. That way, your manufacturer can ensure availability in their production schedule and perhaps offer the option to place smaller production runs more frequently. Quality relationships with suppliers provide a massive advantage over competitors.

A fast-growing DTC brand used our Production Orders feature to reduce down payments to their vendors by 50% and negotiate better terms for the upcoming year. The relationships with vendors improved by having the year planned out ahead of time, giving both parties more accuracy and confidence.

New Product Planning

You work hard creating new products for your brand, but how do you know how much product to order for your launch? With our new feature, you can move beyond guesstimates and estimate demand for new product launches with confidence.

Now, you’ll know how much to order of a product you’ve never sold. Just select products with similar characteristics and Cogsy will take the hassle out of calculating predicted sales data for the first 30, 60, and 90 days—for products with or without variants.

Once you choose products with similar characteristics, Cogsy uses their sales history and applies growth factors to generate predictions around new products’ future sales. We also factor in lead times, so you know you’ll place orders for your new product at the right time.

Estimating demand for new product launches isn’t straightforward. Our new features allow you to create various simulations and see how predicted sales changes in each one.

With Cogsy, execute your new product launches with more confidence and less stress.

Reach your revenue goals with confidence

Both of these features are live for you to use in your Cogsy account.

If you'd like a live demo of how these features can empower your brand, just reach out to us. We're here to help you grow your DTC brand with less stress and in less time.

Stay tuned for more game-changing features soon!

[New!] Introducing our new game-changing planning features

Today, we’re introducing two features that have the power to revolutionize your brand's planning functions. 🚀

We've been hard at work trying to re-imagine how to make your demand planning smarter—yet easier—than ever.

So you can reach your revenue goals with more confidence and less stress.

Ditch the spreadsheets and start creating proactive models and operational plans to proactively get ahead of your inventory needs to set your brand up for massive growth.

Spoiler alert: these features are live and available for you to use now within Cogsy.

New feature: Planning

This new feature equips your team to create operational plans without touching a spreadsheet. With our new Planning feature, you can move different growth levers to view how they affect your inventory levels and your expected revenue.

You'll be able to:

  • Input your month-over-month growth rate.
  • View how seasonality affects your revenue.
  • Factor in your marketing plan (but more on that later!)

Without touching a spreadsheet, you can easily analyze the spectrum of plans and where the potential pitfalls are.

Here's what it looks like:

In the graph at the top, you can move your expected growth rate. In turn, this is instantly reflected in terms of predicted revenue in the bottom graph.

By mapping out different growth scenarios, your team can then determine whether or not your plan's predicted revenue fits your intended business goals.

So you can prepare accordingly.

New feature: Marketing Events

Does your operational plan take your marketing initiatives into consideration? If not, you risk running out of stock during your biggest sales of the year.

Our new Marketing Events feature solves that problem for good.

We've created a Marketing Events calendar where you can input your promotions and sales into your brand's operational plan. This way, you can be sure to make good on the promises you make to customers.

When you want to add a new marketing event to the calendar, you'll fill in:

  • The marketing event's title
  • Dates the event will run
  • The expected sales increase for the products included
  • Which SKUs are affected

That process looks like this:

Once you've added your marketing event, your updated growth plan will ensure your updated product forecast account for the extra stock you'll need to support these promotions and grow your brand's revenue.

You work hard on your marketing plan. Bake it right into your operational plan to avoid stockouts during your planned sales and promotions.

Updates and improvements coming soon!

While we've deployed these new features for you to use, we're hard at work at improving them to serve you better. So, if you have any ideas on how these features could be more helpful to you, drop us a line. We're all ears and always open to your ideas. After all, you know your business best.

Stay tuned for more tools to empower your brand in the coming weeks!

[New!] Updated dashboard

You may have noticed your dashboard looks a bit different from the last time you logged in to Cogsy.

That's because we've re-hauled it to surface more insights, making it easier for you to take smarter actions for your DTC brand.

It looks something like this:

Here's why we've updated our dashboard:

With new widgets and updated criteria across all dashboard widgets, you now have a 360° view of all of your inventory. All of your SKUs are captured and represented within one of the widgets you see on your dashboard as soon as you login.

The new Healthy widget we've added to the dashboard provides you better visibility into which SKUs have the optimal amount of inventory. It looks like this:

We've also renamed the Monitoring widget to Replenish Soon, so it's clearer to you that the SKUs included there will need a purchase order (PO) created in the next 30 days or so.

In addition, you can now easily identify when products are newly added to each widget. Here's how it looks on the Replenish Now section of your dashboard:

And to make things even easier for you, we've improved the replenishment alerts you receive in your inbox, as well. Now, your email alerts will include a flag to indicate when new SKUs have been added to the list and a column for the date they were added. All so you can take action faster.

If you have any questions on the new look of the dashboard or notice something seems off, don't hesitate to drop us a line!

And stay tuned — we have massive new features coming your way in a matter of days!

[New!] Replenish alerts

Replenish alerts are your friendly reminder to stock back up, and they're perfectly timed to ensure you avoid a costly stockout.

Stockouts cost retail brands roughly $1T every year. Let's avoid that happening to your DTC brand by taking the guesswork out of your operations.

At Cogsy, we want every retail brand to succeed–and we want it to be as effortless as possible. You have enough data–too much to know what to do with. Instead, we help you find the signal in all that noise.

But that can't happen unless you get your purchase orders in at precisely the right time.

Introducing replenish alerts

Replenish alerts are your friendly reminder that it's the optimal time to restock. With these automatic email notifications, you can quit babysitting your inventory and guessing when to submit your next PO.

Cogsy will keep a 24/7 eye on your brand's inventory, so you don't have to.

And by considering factors like real-time stock levels, customer demand, lead time, and minimum order quantity, we'll determine the perfect replenish point for each SKU—not too early, not too late.

In other words, replenish alerts ensure you avoid stockouts in the first place:

  • Eliminate revenue loss by maintaining optimal stock levels.
  • Save hours weekly by automating mundane tasks.
  • Confidently grow your DTC brand.

But you don't have to wait until you need to take action to pulse-check your inventory levels. We're happy to email daily or weekly updates, letting you know which SKUs you'll need to restock soon if that gives you peace of mind.

In your Cogsy dashboard, you can turn on your replenish alert notifications.

Simply set how often you want us to send your replenish alerts and who should receive them in the Cogsy app. Then, we'll take care of rest!

[New!] Introducing SKU-specific lead times

Today we’re introducing a new feature to make your recommended purchase orders even better: the ability to specify order lead times by SKU.

Being more specific about how long it’ll take to receive each SKU empowers you to proactively get ahead of your inventory needs, improving your operations overall.

This feature is live and available for you to use now within Cogsy.

Setting lead times by SKU

This new feature equips your team to assign a different lead time to each of your SKUs to get the most accurate indication of when to place purchase orders.

When a SKU doesn’t have a specific lead time set, the SKU will inherit the lead time set at the vendor level, or the average lead time. It’s up to you how specific you want to get with your lead times: at the SKU, vendor or global level.

Below, you can see what it looks like to add a lead time for an individual SKU that will then override the vendor lead time and average global lead time.

Once a SKU’s lead time is assigned, all replenishment calculations are automatically updated to reflect this new SKU-specific value.

Some users, though, have added integrations for apps (like Locate, Skubana or Anvyl). In these cases, lead times set in an external source will be respected and never overridden by Cogsy.

More coming soon!

We’re excited to continue building tools that empower your brand to operate proactively by turning your operational data into smarter actions.

Stay tuned for more feature announcements and new integrations shortly.

[New!] Specify order lead time by vendor

We're excited to share our newest feature with you: vendor-specific order lead times!

The ability to specify order lead times by vendor equips your team to assign a different lead time to each of your vendors to get the most accurate indication of when to place purchase orders.

This radically improves purchase order recommendations and thus your brand’s inventory management.

Below, you can see what it looks like to add a lead time for an individual vendor that will then override the global value.

Once a vendor’s lead time is assigned, all replenishment calculations are automatically updated to reflect this new vendor-specific value.

You can now merge vendors, too. This is handy when a vendor has different names in different sources.

More coming soon!

Our team is hard at work building tools that empower your brand to reach operational excellence. Stay tuned for new features and also new integrations soon.

[New!] Improved purchase orders to empower your end-to-end PO flow

Today, we’re introducing an improved new way to create, edit and receive purchase orders.

This feature is live and available for you to use now.

With this update, Cogsy empowers your team with an end-to-end purchase order flow. Our improved purchase orders is a new feature that lets teams create new POs intelligently using the data already in their account. In addition, teams can edit purchase orders, track them and mark them as received as they come in.

What's improved

For purchase orders that have been marked as submitted (in “Pending delivery” status), teams can now edit or update the following:

  • Issue Date

  • Stock due date

  • Ordered quantities for each line-item

  • Deleting a line-item completely

  • Adding a new line-item

Teams can also now track and mark incoming stock as “Received” or “Partially Received” if not all items have yet been received.

Additionally, teams can now delete a purchase order, whether it is in draft or “Pending Delivery” status.

More coming soon!

We’re excited to continue building tools that empower your brand to reach operational excellence.

Stay tuned for more feature announcements and new integrations shortly.
