Introducing related offerings, new blocks and webhooks

We are excited to announce a several new features.

Related offerings

Now, when learners are viewing an offering, they can see a section which displays a grid of related offerings. This is a great way for learners to discover new offerings or promote specific offerings in your catalogue.

When creating the offering in the admin area, simply select the offerings that are related and they will be displayed on the offering page.

New blocks

We've update the content blocks to include images and HTML blocks. This gives even move control and flexibility to the design of your pages and offerings.

Webhooks

Webhooks are one way that applications can send automated messages or information to other applications. The messages are sent when something happens (a trigger or event) in the sending application. They contain a message - or payload - that is sent to a unique URL, which the receiving application can process.

You can setup webhooks that trigger whenever an enrolment is created in Palette. Your applications can process the webhook information to update or create records.

We hope you find these new features helpful. As always, if you have any questions or feedback, please let us know.

Thank you,

The Palette Team

Introducing catalogues

The short version

  • The ability to group courses into multiple catalogues are now available in Palette
  • You can create and edit specific catalogues of courses with custom content for specific audiences
  • Stack or nest catalogues and control their visibility

The detail

Catalogues in Palette are simply a visual grouping of offerings. There are many ways to utilise the catalogues feature and it can be a powerful way to display and target your offerings to particular audiences.

If you have various programs, you can use the catalogues feature to segment and communicate to your learners what your programs are.

You can access the Catalogues area from the 'Manage' navigation area in your Palette admin.

To create a new catalogue, click on 'Add Catalogue' and then enter the name, images and content for your new catalogue. On the settings tab, select the offerings you want to include and click 'Assign offerings'. Finish off the configuration and save the new catalogue!

Catalogues can be circulated to your target audience through links or added to your Palette site.

Randomised bulk coupon codes

The short version

  • Bulk coupons now generate with unique randomised characters included in the coupon codes to improve the security of each individual coupon code
  • CSV lists of bulk coupon codes can now be downloaded from the admin to support code distribution and management

The detail

Changes to bulk coupon codes

Bulk coupons are helpful when you need to generate many coupons of the same type, where each coupon code is unique and can only be redeemed once.

To create bulk coupons, you set a prefix, and the number of bulk coupons you need. For example you may needed 100 coupon codes for a Summer marketing campaign.

Previously, the coupon codes generated would have looked something like this:

SummerCampaign-1
SummerCampaign-2
SummerCampaign-3
etc. up until
SummerCampaign-100

This meant it was easy for someone to guess coupon codes, as they followed a pattern.

We've added in randomised characters, so the codes are not able to be guessed. They will now look something like this:

SummerCampaign-YQJDOP-1
SummerCampaign-ODIEUH-2
SummerCampaign-DHSEOJ-3
etc. up until
SummerCampaign-IDHOWK-100

Downloading bulk coupon code lists

To get the full list of bulk coupon codes, you can download a CSV of them from the admin. This will include any details about which codes have been used, on what offerings, and by whom.
