Release - 04/11/2022
Hey everyone! We'll be doing a release this Monday, April 11th. All of the changes for this release are small (with one exception), so I won't be making a video for this release.
SmarterProctoring
- This is the big one: If a student was completely disconnected from the internet for an extended period of time (more than 30 seconds) they would end up in a "stuck" state where they wouldn't be able to continue even if they regained their internet connection. We have now changed this such that a student, after losing the internet connection, will be notified that they have 2 minutes to fix their internet connection, and if they do not we will close down their session and direct them away from the exam.
- For DMV exams, we previously would kick the student out once we knew they had completed their DMV exam, this is now being changed so that the student can review their results at the end of the exam. DMV Test Takers will now need to click "Stop Proctoring" in order to stop their proctoring session.
- When Hybrid was added, we included text chat so that proctors and students could message back and forth if they needed to talk. That text chat was being created for automated students even though they couldn't see it. We are removing that text chat from automated students in this release.
- In the Hybrid Proctor view, the opacity of the focused mode smaller screen has been changed from 65% back to 85%, so it is now more opaque.
- There was an issue with proctors not receiving the initial request for proctoring services in the 3 step process, which is fixed in this release.
- There was an accessibility issue with first time enrollment into SP where the screen reader wouldn't read anything on the "Getting Started" pop-up, this has been fixed.
- The word "BETA" has been removed from all proctor views of Hybrid.
- Fixed an issue with the accessibility of the keyboard focus ending up in the wrong place when playing the room scan example video.
- Fixed an accessibility issue where the screen reader would not call out permitted items properly for the student on their dashboard.
- We also removed some old logging tools we no longer use which will contribute to a small performance improvement for the system.
- Fixed an issue where the ClassCalc settings did not persist when creating accommodations or adding attempts.
- We now will be tracking the state changes in onboarding to get a better idea of where students spend their time, this effectively means that we will be able to see which pages of onboarding students end up on the longest.
- Fixed an issue where we were throwing annotations during onboarding when we shouldn't be
- Fixed an issue where annotations like window blurred would be thrown multiple times for one event.
- Fixed an issue where the DMV scheduling site was directing DMV clients to the appointment page for Hybrid appointments.
SmarterID
- We have made an improvement to help with face detection consistency. Without going too far into the details, our pass/fail for student face checks in SID will be more consistent.
