Upcoming Changes to Treasury Allocation
We will be implementing changes to how each week’s Treasury allocation is calculated. Each week, the prize pools generated for events and tournaments will be fuelled by the previous week's Treasury generation. While the health of the Treasury remains strong ($1.3 million USD), we are making this shift in the spirit of sustainability and planning for flagship events that will launch across 2023.
Beginning February 20, 2023 UTC, 100% of the treasury portion of breeding fees from the stud farm will be redistributed into prize pools which will primarily be used to fund biweekly Maiden Stakes tournaments. We will also be exploring additional Maiden functionality by popular demand:
- Breeding 3.0 Conditional Maidens
- Free 6 and 12 racehorse events
- Additional formats and sizes
We are excited to announce that “Sit and Go” tournaments are coming to ZED RUN, and will represent the next generation of the ZED RUN tournament experience. Kiss qualifying and the grind goodbye, as the ability to enter tournaments that run immediately hits the platform by the end of the first quarter of 2023. These new events will be on-demand with multiple formats and availability across all classes.
Additionally, we will be reimplementing the popular “Challenges” capabilities from the Metaverse Cup to create unique events, new and old, that reward XP, skins and more. A mixture of paid and free racing challenges will offer yet another avenue to participate across the ecosystem alongside Sit and Go tournaments.
Finally, the current Treasury allocation as of February 20, 2023 UTC will find its purpose in future flagship events as we focus on a strong onboarding and marketing push in the first half of 2023. We strongly believe that the Treasury can be better utilised to create the most riveting events on the platform that accomplish more for all stable owners within ZED RUN. With a renewed focus on key metrics that help the game grow, we are positioning the treasury to have a key impact on the ecosystem in 2023. Spectacles that fuel content, community collaboration and competitiveness will be the cornerstones of future ZED RUN events.
