ZED RUN Tournaments Changelog - Oct 9 - Oct 15 (UTC)
Weekly Premiers
- Changing the scoring system for all Weekly Premiers
- 2 points for finishing in the top half, 1 point for finishing in the bottom half
- Sum of all races scoring
- Most races tiebreaker
- 50x XP multiplier (split by round)
- The total weekly prize pool remains $50k USD
Reasoning: We’re making these changes so we can properly reward engagement, incentivise participation throughout the whole week, ensure the competitiveness of the events, and ensure racehorses of varying stability levels can effectively devise qualifying strategies.
Starting October 16, we plan to trial Quadruple Up payouts (one per distance) in each segment as qualifying races, replacing Top 3. We believe this payout format more appropriately accomplishes the balance desired for qualifying in line with the scoring system change.
Sit and Go Tournaments
We’ve been monitoring fill rates and wait times with the goal of finding the optimal balance, levelling process, prize pools, and fill times. With that in mind, we’re looking at the following adjustments:
- One format at a time per level segment (one per distance), beginning with a new balanced format similar to the Weekly Premiers
- This new format will feature 2 rounds, 12-gate races, top 4 advancing
- 100% of the prize pool will be allocated to the final round, with top 6 even payouts
We’ll be cancelling the new population of existing Sit and Go tournaments (once they fill, they won’t repopulate), and cancelling any that don’t fill within 48 hours.
Reasoning: The current Sit and Go tournament availability has received positive feedback, but the fill times haven’t matched community expectations. These changes should provide a quicker experience for both running in Sit and Go tournaments, and levelling racehorses. We’ll continue to scale availability and diversity as participation in each segment increases.
