Release 11/3/2022
Hey all, we have a few things going out this afternoon for onboarding 2.0, please see the list below for these items.
Onboarding 2.0 Changes
- When the student clicks the extension icon in chrome, they will now see a link to email support, which is attached to the support@smarterservices.com email.
- There was an issue where the chrome permissions check was popping up even if the student had all of their permissions enabled. Now, if a student has all the permissions they need, this step is skipped.
- Added text under the green checkmark after agreements are submitted, which says "Agreements Complete". This was a small change in order to standardize, as we had text below all other green checkmarks in onboarding.
- There was a blank white box showing up for a small period of time after the last step of onboarding, but before the exam loaded. This has been removed.
- The utility app functionality has been added to onboarding 2.0.
- Added a notification to the floating menu to let the student know if they have a proctor chat message to view.
- The "Live View" where a student could view their own camera was covered by some elements on some exam pages. We have adjusted this so the Live View is always on top.
- There is an issue where multiple tabs can open when you start onboarding and are reusing a session. After this fix, the session tab and onboarding tab will open 1 of each only.
- In some cases, the extension was not disabling (shown by the lock icon returning to grey) when a session was completed. This has been fixed.
- In some cases, the "Live View" box showing the student would remain after the session was closed, this has been fixed.
- We have added loaders icons in any situation where the student needs to wait for something to load, such as a slow transition between screens.
- Out buttons for chat, attachments, and virtual calculator in the floating menu were previously showing up regardless of whether those were options for the exam. These icons will now only show up if they are enabled for the exam.
SID - Challenges appearing too often
- In SID, we had a situation where challenges were appearing too often, specifically for typing questions. This has been addressed such that students will be challenged in the same way for typing and facial challenges.
- If a challenge was skipped or abandoned it would show as a Facial challenge even though the user was presented with Typing. Now the proper challenge type will be reflected in the reports regardless if the challenge was skipped or abandoned.
