Manage your content with Tag management

We've created a tag management page, enhancing your control over your tags and their usage.

Here are the major benefits you will enjoy with the tag management page:

Centralised view: A consolidated view of all your tags, helping you to manage your tags more efficiently.

Track tag usage: You'll be able to see where each tag is used, providing an at-a-glance understanding of your tag's usage across different tracks. And navigate directly to each track.

Reduced duplications: You can’t create duplicates of a tag. We’ve added validation to help stop accidentally creating tags you already have

We believe that these improvements will enhance your productivity, and allow you to maximize the use of our product. Watch this space for further improvements in content management.

How to Access

Select the "Settings" section in the side menu and then select the “Tag management” option

We hope that this new update will provide benefits to your productivity and user experience. We're committed to continually improving our product based on your valuable feedback.

New UI for track creation and editing

\We are thrilled to introduce significant improvements to our product that make content creation easier, faster, and more intuitive than ever before. This simplified guide will give you an overview of the new interface and how to navigate through them.

Key Features and Improvements

  1. Streamlined Content Creation Process: You no longer need to switch between "Create track wizard" and "Edit track" to create content. Now you can create and edit tracks, add challenges, and much more, all in one place.
  2. Consistency Across the Product: Our new design provides a more consistent, professional, and modern look and feel across all pages. No more navigating through inconsistent layouts.
  3. Enhanced User Experience for All: Whether you're a tech expert or a novice, our improved UI is designed to be more user-friendly. We've simplified various processes and made our interface more intuitive.

How to use the new interface

Turn on the New UI: On your team’s content page, next to the “Create track” button is a toggle which will enable the new experience.

Now you can either create a new track or go to any of your existing tracks to see the new UI. We will remove the old user interface after 24th of August

Navigating the Track details UI:

Below you can see how we have refreshed the track details page. Everything from before is still available. The content is now more organised and things such as Scripts are easier and faster to access.

We are currently working on updating our documentation. Until then, we hope this quick guide will assist you in navigating through the main changes.

Your feedback is invaluable in helping us make our product even better. Feel free to share your thoughts and suggestions about the new interface. We look forward to continuing to improve our experience and making your lives easier.

CLI tracking and reporting

We're introducing tracking and reporting for crashes as well as basic user activity in the command line interface (CLI). This new functionality will equip us with crucial insights to better understand how Instruqt is being used, identify any common issues, and ensure stability. The ultimate goal is to continuously refine and elevate your experience with our product.

To provide you with control over this new feature, we've also added the ability for users to disable the tracking function. If you prefer not to participate in crash reporting and user activity tracking, simply run the following commands:

To disable crash reporting:
instruqt config set report-crashes false

To disable user activity tracking:
instruqt config set telemetry false

These enhancements will significantly help us improve the CLI user experience, making it more stable, reliable, and responsive to your needs.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions. We appreciate your support and thank you for being a part of our community.

A more immersive and seamless embed experience

We are excited to announce improvements to the embed feature, aimed at providing a more immersive and seamless experience for your users. These enhancements, along with the existing custom button option, offer greater flexibility and customization possibilities to meet the unique needs of your embedded tracks.

What's new:

  1. Disable the Feedback Prompt: We recognize that every learning scenario is different, and sometimes, a feedback prompt may not be necessary or superfluous. To address this, we have made it possible to disable the feedback prompt at the end of an embedded track.
    Read the docs

  2. Customize the "Well Done!" text: We believe in personalization and understanding the context of your embedded tracks. With this improvement, you now can replace the default "Well done!" text with something that better aligns with the specific context and purpose of your content. For example, what action the user should take next inside your LMS.
    Read the docs

  3. Full-Screen Mode: We understand the importance of creating an immersive learning environment. With the new update, your learners can now toggle embedded tracks to full-screen mode, allowing them to focus entirely on the content and enhancing their overall learning experience.
Note: For the new full-screen button to appear on your embedded tracks, your iframe snippet needs to be updated. Use the track embed configurator (docs) to obtain the updated snippet, or manually add the allowfullscreen property to your iframe element.

We are continuously striving to enhance our product, and these improvements are a result of valuable feedback and suggestions from users like you.

Sandbox Presets and Shared Hot-Starts

Sandbox Presets and Shared Hot-Starts

We’re excited to announce two new feature on our platform: Sandbox Presets and Shared Hot-Starts!

What are Sandbox Presets?

With Sandbox Presets, you can now save sandbox definitions separately from tracks. Think of them as building blocks for your tracks, that you define once and then reuse across many different tracks. You can use all the same resources as are currently available for your tracks (containers, virtual machines, cloud accounts).

This means you will have to spend less time setting up your sandbox environments and have more time to focus on what’s important — building great content. Plus, you can save and share presets with your team and other users, making collaboration easier than ever.

Read more about Sandbox Presets.

Which bring us to the second new feature: Shared Hot-Starts.

Using Sandbox Presets, we've enhanced our existing Hot-Start feature to make it more cost-effective. Previously, Hot Start pools had to be created for every track that you wanted to make available instantly to your learners, which meant you were probably creating more and bigger pools than actually required.

With Shared Hot-Starts, you can now create pools based on a Sandbox Preset. Hot-Start instances in those pools are shared and can be used by all tracks that are based on the same preset. This means hot-start pools can be used much more efficiently, allowing you to have more hot-start enabled tracks, at a fraction of the cost.

Read more about Shared Hot-Starts.

Both Sandbox Presets and Shared Hot-Starts are available for all our customers starting today. If you have any questions, our team is happy to help.

Happy content creating!

Allow users to extend their session

Allow users to extend their session

We're thrilled to announce a new feature designed to empower end users and boost their productivity. Say goodbye to interrupted sessions and track restarts! With our latest update, you can give your end users the option to extend their session duration, ensuring uninterrupted progress towards completing their tracks. Of course only if you want them to.

How to do it?

Head to your track details and toggle the extend time limit option. Then define the max time users can extend their session by and viola!

How does it work?

When your end user is working on your track and there are only 30 seconds left a modal will pop up asking them if they want to extend the time so they can keep working or end the session.

As always, please share your feedback with us and happy creating!

For more about this feature see our docs here

More feedback, more insight: positive ratings now included

We know that gathering feedback from learners is a critical component of improving their experience, and we're committed to making it easier to collect their thoughts. That's why we're happy to inform you that learners can now always provide their written feedback, regardless of their rating. Before, only negative ratings would trigger the feedback prompt. With this change, we believe that you'll gain more insight into what learners loved about your content, as well as areas to improve.

We hope you value this improvement and we're excited to hear your feedback. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out.

We have some exciting updates for you

Assignment display settings

You can now customize your end users viewing experience with new features including the ability to set the starting position, adjust the starting width, and even make your content go behind the assignment. Your users can also pin content left or right.

You will find these settings on your track details page.
*Please note this update is only available in the UI. Coming soon to a CLI near you

Loading
We’ve added a countdown and a loading bar to the lab to give your users a better idea of how long they’ll have to wait before they can start your track. We also added some messaging from Iggy to make the loading experience a little more fun for users.

Image (pictures) upload
Now, you can drag and drop pictures into your tracks and challenges directly in the UI, with no need to host the images or remember the markdown syntax.

Lightboxing
Your users can now click a picture in any challenge to see it full-sized. This is applied automatically when you add a picture to a challenge.
