Keep Users Engaged: Exciting Updates for the Track Loading Experience
Waiting for a cold-started track to load can be a frustrating experience for your users. While the Hot Start feature can help alleviate this issue, it may not always be a feasible solution. To help keep your users engaged while their track is loading, we're introducing two exciting updates:
- A new Instruqt Explainer Video Note type: excite and educate your users by introducing them to the Instruqt lab. Just like other notes, this video (see below) will be shown to your users while their track is loading.
The Instruqt Explainer Video note can be added from the new Notes editor in the web interface:
Note: If you wish to add the video through the CLI, just add a new video note and use this url. For Invite and Kiosk mode plays, we've enhanced the waiting experience, even if the lab is not in focus.
First, the page title now mirrors the track's loading status:
Second, users can choose to receive a browser notification when their track is ready to play:
Once the track is ready to start, a notification will be sent:
Note: due to technical constraints, browser notifications and dynamic page titles are only available on tracks played through an invite link or in kiosk mode. If you wish to enable similar functionality for embedded tracks, please check this article.
