Help Your Customers Find What They're Looking for With All New Storefront Filters
We promised further improvements to your storefront on Sellar, so here's a big one!
Today, we're adding filters to help your customers explore your product list and find just what they're looking for.
Sometimes customers visit your storefront with something in mind; a style of beer, to check out new releases, or to simply restock on that favourite best seller. Whatever it may be, filters give you the power to guide your customers and help them find something they'll want to add to their basket.
Want to organise your products by style? Go ahead.
Prefer to group your product range by core, specials, seasonal and new? No problem.
Filters make the current, in-line headers used to group your product list even more versatile. In fact, we've already transformed your existing headers into filters automatically! So your new storefront will still be organised the way you currently have it.
Want to make full use of filters? Have a look at the quick guide below. Or if you want to jump straight in, head over to Settings -> Configure Store -> Edit Store Layoutwhere you'll see the new Layout & Grouping page to create filter groups and easily organise your products.
Create a new filter group and add products
In the new Layout & Grouping page, click '+ Group' and give your filter group a name. In this example, we're changing our current filters from 'Core range' and 'Specials' to organise by beer style.
Add at least one product to your new filter group. This will move that product from it's current group to the new one. Continue to create groups and add products until you're happy. You'll see drag handles (three horizontal lines) next to name of your filter groups. You can use these to change the sorting order of your filter group list. And just like before, you can changing the sorting order of your products within each of these filter groups in the same way.
The previous filter groups that we no longer want are still in the list despite containing zero products. You can remove these by clicking/tapping the pencil icon next to the filter group.
Back on the storefront, your customers can now use these filters to drill down and find precisely what they're looking for. And when used in combination with the existing container filters, your customers will be able to place orders in record time!
So go ahead and update your storefront to make full use of filters today.
