This week’s release resolves a timeout issue with our Adobe extension and improves the experience around importing files from a Review Link. Here is an overview of the updates we released: 

• You can update a video’s poster frame from either list view or grid view. Before, opening the “Edit poster frame” window from list view would lead to the app crashing. 
• Importing files from the second page of a Review Link no longer results in an error message. 
• In a Review Link with multiple files, a shield icon now indicates if a file is watermarked. 
• We added clearer messaging to the Import window to inform you of any importing restrictions. For example, you cannot import a watermarked file or a file contained in a folder. 
• The MediaSilo extension in Premiere Pro and other Adobe applications will no longer time out after twenty minutes of inactivity. 
• For Android users, downloading files from a Review Link for offline viewing is now working correctly in our mobile app.

Here are the bug fixes we released today:

• We fixed a setting in the “Add Users” window that controls a user’s access to Spotlight. Now, if the Spotlight setting is off, a new user will not have access to Spotlight features in MediaSilo. 
• We replaced an outdated logo that appeared when SSO users encountered a login error on mobile devices.

This week, we made the project browsing experience more customizable, and we simplified how you upload a new version of a file. Here is an overview of the updates we released:

• You can now resize, rearrange, or hide the columns in project list view. These features were already available when viewing files inside a project, and now we’ve added them to the Projects home page.
• When you are viewing a file in Projects, you can now upload a new version by going to the Versions tab in the right drawer and clicking the blue plus button.
• We fixed a bug in our desktop app that prompted SSO users to enable MFA on their accounts. MFA requirements do not apply to users who log in with SSO. 
• We fixed a visual defect with our desktop app’s icon. Before, the icon looked distorted in list view on Apple devices with an M1 chip. 
• You can now assign a brand-new custom role to a user without having to reload the page. Before, assigning a newly created role would result in an error message. 
• When you assign users to projects via the Administration page, selecting a role with a long name will no longer shift the layout of the “Add users to project” window.
• When you view a file in Projects, you can upload a new version by dragging and dropping a file from your local computer onto the file you are viewing. This method of uploading a version now redirects you to the newest version, instead of getting stuck on a loading screen.
• If your workspace has hundreds of users, the user lists you export from Administration will no longer contain duplicates.  
• The app no longer crashes when you try to add a visual watermark to a forensic-watermarked project. 
• In MediaSilo Go, downloading files for offline viewing is now working correctly. Before, the files disappeared from the Downloads section when you closed and reopened the app.

One of our most requested features is now available: list view for folders. For any team that uses long folder naming conventions, this feature lets you see a folder’s entire name as you browse your projects. We also added support for .svg files and made it easier to access a list of the files you’ve uploaded and downloaded. Here is an overview of today's updates:

What’s New

• List view is now available for folders in Projects, so you can see long folder names without having to hover over the folder icons. To switch between list and grid view, click the toggle in the top right corner of the page. 
• Now, you can reopen the window that displays your uploads and downloads. Just click the icon with the up and down arrows in the navigation bar to open and close the window. In our desktop app, this window contains all the files you upload and download. In the browser version of MediaSilo, the window contains the files you upload and tracks the progress of any watermarked downloads. To see all your downloads, please check your browser’s download manager. 

Fixes and Improvements

• We added .svg files to our list of supported image file types. 
• You can once again apply forensic-only watermarking to your projects. This means you can protect your videos with a forensic watermark, a visible watermark, or both. If you want to automatically apply any of these options to new projects, go to Administration > SafeStream > Watermark Settings. To watermark an individual project, go to the SafeStream section in your project settings. 
• In Administration, the “Add Users'' window now checks for duplicate emails, so you won’t enter the same email more than once. 
• The “Add Users” window now alerts you when you are five or fewer users away from your user limit and when the limit has been reached.
• In list view, you can once again select a combination of files and folders by holding the Command key on a Mac or the Control key on a PC and then clicking the files and folders you want to select.
• We fixed a bug in list view that prevented you from deselecting files. 
• The option to export spreadsheets from Insights is now working correctly. Before, a bug caused the “Export” button to re-export your previous export. 
• When you open a file in Projects, the file no longer flashes on the page before it finishes loading. 
• In some cases, you might share a file in a public Review Link and then watermark the project that contains the file. When you edit the Review Link, you are now asked to enter link recipients to ensure your audience can view the watermarked content. Once you save your changes, the “Send Link” and “Copy Link” buttons will appear.

We redesigned the grid view on the Projects page to give you more information about your projects at a glance. We also made it easier to view long folder names in Review Links and improved the navigation experience between a file and the project or folder that contains it. Here is an overview of today's release: 

What’s New

• Project grid view has been redesigned to give you the information you need faster. You no longer need to hover over a project to check its size, the number of files in the project, or the number of users. Now, this information and more are immediately displayed on the project tile.  

Fixes and Improvements

• When you open a file in Projects and click the back button in the top left corner (next to the word “Projects”), you now return to your last position on the page. This way, you no longer have to scroll back to the file you just clicked on. 
• We added tooltips to folders in Review Links, so you can hover over a folder with a long name to view its entire name. 
• In Projects, we fixed a visual defect that caused an options menu to be cut off by the folder section at the top of the page. 
• When you navigate to a list of files in Projects or a list of users in Administration, the list no longer flashes on the page before it finishes loading. 
• In the Spotlight section, you can now click the options button on any Spotlight older than one month and choose “Spotlight Insights” to view its analytics. Before, the default date filter in Insights would prevent the analytics from loading. 
• We fixed a bug in Administration that prevented you from saving changes to your link settings in certain cases.
• We resolved an issue that treated emails as case-sensitive, which could result in counting one user as two users. 
• If you open a Review Link in your phone’s web browser, you can now view all the files in the link, instead of being limited to the first 50 files in the link. 
• Administrators can once again export a user list as a .csv or .xls file by clicking More > Export Users in the Users tab in Administration. Before, a bug made this feature fail in certain workspaces. 
• Assets are now loading as expected in Spotlights and Presentations whose access setting is “Workspace users.” 
• We fixed a bug that caused the Usage page to inaccurately display “0 GB” of current storage for some accounts.

This week’s release makes it easier to view your projects and create new ones. We also fixed bugs impacting the Usage page in Administration and full-screen mode in Projects and Review Links. Here is an overview of the updates we released:

Fixes and Improvements

• We streamlined the experience of creating a new project. Now, clicking “New Project” opens a window where you can enter your project’s title and description and upload a custom thumbnail and banner. When you’re done, you’ll automatically go back to the Projects page with your newest project at the top. 
• In list view, project titles and other text are brighter, bolder, and easier to read. 
• In list view, we changed the text in the “owner” column to say “created by.” This is to avoid confusion with the role of project owner, since a project can have multiple project owners. 
• When you right-click on a project in either list or grid view, the options menu now opens with a smooth animation. 
• Selecting “Rename” from a project’s options menu now opens the “Edit Project” window. This provides a clear path for making changes to your project. 
• Project favorites are still displayed at the top of the page, but they are no longer grouped into a separate section to make the project-viewing experience more compact. 
• When you are watching a video in Projects or in a Review Link, your timecode display settings now carry over into full-screen mode.  
• We fixed an issue that prevented some accounts from seeing accurate user and storage totals in Administration.

This week, we more than doubled our list of supported image file types, and we resolved some visual defects in list view. Here is an overview of the release:

What’s New

• For images uploaded after September 27, 2022, we now support additional file types, including .crw, .nef, and .heic. This expands our support of raw image files like .cr2, so you can view even more files (and their thumbnails) in MediaSilo. Fixes and Improvements

• When you tag a file in the right drawer, existing tags are now auto-suggested.
• When you navigate projects in list view, the words “No files found” or “This project is empty” no longer flash on the screen. 
• You can click the three-dots button on a folder, and the options menu no longer overlaps with the gear icon in list view. 
• We fixed a visual defect that cut off a folder’s options menu. This occurred in list view whenever the page contained folders but no files. 
• In Administration, we added messaging that informs you when there are no roles, users, or watermark templates to display. For example, we let you know if no users match your search criteria, and we display an “Add Users” button. 
• When you export a user list from Administration, the statuses in the “MFA” column are now accurate. This way, you know which users have enabled MFA on their user profile and which ones have not. 
• When you add users to your workspace, you can once again paste multiple comma-separated email addresses into the “User emails” field. 
• When you add users to a distribution list in Administration, we no longer auto-suggest distribution lists that you have already entered. 
• In our desktop app, we fixed a bug that resulted in large folders failing to download. In the event that one or more files in a folder fail to download, click the “Export Log” button in the Download window to see which files were downloaded and which ones were not. The improved log now includes a column that provides the file path for each file.

• When you upgrade your account to add more storage or user seats, the Administration page now displays the correct storage and number of users for your workspace. 
• We fixed a bug that prevented viewers from downloading files from Spotlights and Presentations in certain cases.
• We fixed a bug that caused watermarking of large projects to time out and fail.

Here is an overview of the issues we resolved this week: 

• Your project “favorites” now remain at the top of the Projects home page after you navigate away and back to the page. Before, a bug prevented favorites from loading until you refreshed the page. 
• We addressed issues with loading thumbnails in Projects. Now, an image file’s thumbnail loads faster; gif thumbnails are displayed consistently; and thumbnails are displayed earlier in the upload process, even when your files are still being prepared for viewing. 
• When you update a Review Link by replacing a file or adding a new version of a file, we now redirect viewers to your link’s content, instead of showing them an error message. 
• In the Sent Links tab, you can now click the options button on any link older than one month and choose “Insights” to view the link’s analytics. Before, the default date filter in Insights would prevent the analytics from loading.
• In Spotlight, if you exit the Clone Template window in order to create a new template, the Create Template window no longer reverts to the Clone Template window. 
• If you are watching a video while uploading files, your playback is no longer reset each time an upload completes. 
• Renaming a file in list view or grid view will automatically update the files’s name in the Information drawer on the right. 
• We resolved an issue with spreadsheets exported from Insights that were missing some analytics in certain cases.   
• Link recipients can now download a watermarked video that is two or more hours long after watching the video in its entirety. This applies to Review Links where downloading is enabled.
