Fixes and Improvements for January 12th
January 12, 2023
Our first release of the year delivers bug fixes to different areas of the app, so you can successfully export user lists from Administration, customize a watermark’s color, or import files from a Review Link to the project of your choice. Here is an overview of today’s release:
- When you import files from a Review Link, you can now import to any project in your workspace by searching for the project’s name. Before, you could only search the first fifty projects in the Import window.
- Administrators can once again export a user list of up to 500 users as a .csv or .xls file. Just click More > Export Users on the Users page in Administration.
- You can now select users in Administration and then add them to a new distribution list (Actions > Add users to a Distribution List > Create New). Before, a bug prevented the new distribution list from saving properly.
- When you add users to a new distribution list in Administration, you have the option to export the list as a .csv file. This file now displays user names and emails, instead of just user ids.
- As an administrator, you can add users to your workspace without inviting them to any projects. In this case, the confirmation message now says, “Users successfully added,” instead of “Invitations successfully sent.”
- In Administration, you can now select users from different pages of the user list and then perform a bulk action, such as changing the users’ status, without crashing the app.
- We fixed an issue with the carousel gallery in Spotlights and Presentations. Now, clicking the scroll arrow does not skip over any items in the gallery. To prevent this issue from happening, you can no longer enter a “Scroll” number that is higher than the “In View” number in your gallery settings.
- When you create a playlist, double clicking the “Create” button now results in one new playlist instead of two.
- We fixed a bug in the Feed that incorrectly labeled certain links as expired, when they were in fact active.
- You can once again delete files in list view by selecting the files and hitting the Delete key on your keyboard. A pop-up window will ask you to confirm this action.
- When you play an audio file, a waveform graphic is now displayed in the audio player, instead of a black screen.
- In list view, an audio file’s thumbnail image is now represented by a waveform graphic, instead of a blank tile.
- In the Manage Project Team window, a role with a long name will no longer stretch the width of the role dropdown menu.
- If your workspace uses several custom roles, you can now scroll through the entire list of roles in the Manage Project Team window. Before, some roles were not visible when assigning a new user to a project.
- The “Add to Bin” option is now working in the project tree in the left sidebar.
- When you create a visible watermark template for your project, the new template is now saved correctly. The name of the template is displayed in the watermark template menu.
- We fixed a bug in the watermark editor that crashed the app whenever you entered your own color code.
- For Safari users, choosing the “Upload Folder” option no longer allows you to select more than one folder, since you can only upload one folder at a time using this method. You can still upload multiple folders at once by dragging them directly from your computer into a project.
- You can now download the MediaSilo desktop app as a .pkg file. This way, Mac users can install the app (and keep it up to date) without the administrator permission required by a .dmg file.
- As a Windows user, you can now install and update the MediaSilo desktop app without needing administrator access to your computer. Before, you could only install the app for “all users,” which requires an administrator password. Now, you can choose to install the app “only for me,” which does not require an administrator password. If the app was already installed on your computer before today’s release, then an administrator password is still required to install updates. To make sure you can update the app as a non-administrator user, an administrator must first uninstall the app. Then, you will be able to install the app and any future updates.
- The MediaSilo desktop app now reopens automatically after you install an update to the app on your Windows computer.
