Create datasets for API integrations: Quickbooks

We understand the importance of empowering our customers to be more autonomous on our platform 💪 so we're happy to announce the latest features release:

Create Quickbooks datasets directly from the Abacum web app 🚀

No need to rely on our support to handle the creation of these two integration-based datasets from the back office anymore!

After having the API integration setup for these services, you can then take charge and create your datasets autonomously, eliminating unnecessary delays and streamlining your data management process.

Refresh behavior after manual input

Say goodbye to full table and chart reloads when updating assumptions! 🔋

Our data input process just became a lot more efficient and user-friendly.

Previously, when inputting assumptions all tables and charts did a complete reload. This often to led to losing track of what you were looking at and what effect the changes had.

Now, when you input and save a value we just update the specific cells that are affected. As a bonus, we also highlight where the changes took place. 👔

This should help you:

1. Have an enjoyable experience for you and your colleagues
2. Avoid tables and charts jumping around on your screen
3. Easily identify & understand the effect of your change

Hide repeated timeframe names from charts and tables

Say no more! ✨ Timeframe names are removed from tables and charts

Until now, we always displayed the name of the timeframe which was repetitive and confusing.

By vanishing them, the visual layout experiences:

  1. Greater clarity when displaying timeframes.
  2. A more structured UX

Variable toolbar menu in tabs

We redesigned our Variable toolbar menu in the Module Builder!

By splitting our toolbar into separate tabs, we've optimized usability and made it easier to find what you need when configuring your variables' dimensions and settings.

This revamp will also allow us to start unlocking new features more effectively in a clean and organized environment. So stay tuned for what's coming! 🚀

Select colors for versions in Charts

Select colors for versions in Charts 🎨

Previously, comparison colors in charts were based on a gradient of the actuals color.

Now, comparison colors can be selected manually

Why is it important?

  1. Easier to distinguish actuals and versions.
  2. Improved visualization for stakeholders.

New Formula Editor menu

Now that dimension aggregations are mostly automatically assigned, we moved that setting into a new formula editor contextual menu under the three-dots menu for a cleaner UI 🧹

Improved download behavior

Introducing Flexible Data Download Choices

  1. Raw 🥩 or processed 🍲: choose how you want to download your data
  2. Entire data or specific months 🗓️

Users will receive three notifications:

  1. A first toast to inform you that the download of your file(s) has started
  2. A second, persistent toast that includes the URL from where you can retrieve your file(s).
  3. A third notification in the "Updates" section of the app where again you can download the file by clicking on the URL provided.

Note: Multiple files will be combined in a zip folder, individual files are directly downloaded as .xlxs

Filter on non-shared dimensions

You can now set filters for non-shared dimensions at both the table and space levels. These filters will only apply to variables that include the specified dimension, leaving the values of other variables unchanged.⛱️

In table builder, this means you won't have “inactive” filters anymore, and you'll have full visibility into which variables will be affected by the filter. Additionally, before this release, if you added a variable without the dimension being filtered, the filter would be removed since it wasn't "shared" across all variables.

In spaces, we filter only the variables that have the dimension that's being filtered on and leave the rest untouched.

It is important to highlight that previously when applying a filter in a space, tables containing any variable without that dimension were automatically hidden from view completely. With this release, all tables & variables will now be displayed, and we only apply the filter to variables with that specific dimension. If you still wish to filter out certain variables, you can simply remove them from the table.
