πŸ“– Who changed what, and when. Every model edit on the record

Numbers and model structure change, and it isn't always clear why. A formula was edited, a variable's setting changed, a model was renamed or restructured. The Activity ledger now tells you who did it, when, and what the value was before.

✨ What's new

  • The Activity ledger, which already tracked your versions, scenarios and manual inputs, now records every structural and content change to your models and variables, with the person who made it and, for most edits, the value before and after.
  • On the model side, it captures creating, duplicating, renaming, moving and deleting a model, creating, renaming and deleting the sections that organize your models, and every change to the switchover date, including the automatic moves that happen when new actuals sync in.
  • On the variable side, it captures creating, duplicating, renaming and deleting variables, formula edits per version, actuals formula changes, calculation strategy, input type, aggregation, dimensions, style, description, and importing a global variable from another model. Formula changes made at the sub-dimension level are recorded too: open View changes on the event to see the previous and new formula for each dimension item.
  • You can also just ask. Tell the AI Agent "What changed in this model last week?" or "What did Ana change in Revenue since July 1?" and it answers from the same ledger, with the same permissions, grouping everything saved together as one change.
  • Deleted models and variables keep their full history, so you can always trace back what happened to them.

βš™οΈ How it works

Open More (…) β†’ Activity from the left sidebar. Each row is a single change, sorted from most to least recent, with the event, its details, the affected resource and the user who made it. The ledger is permissioned by access, so you only see events for the models you have access to.

The ledger starts recording from the moment the feature is enabled for your organization, so earlier changes are not captured.

πŸ”œ Coming soon

  • Access from the public API.
  • Filters and download on the Activity page.
  • A richer visual format for the Agent's activity answers.

πŸ—ΊοΈ Meet the Model Map: see how every variable connects

πŸ—ΊοΈ Meet the Model Map: see how every variable connects

We got feedback that the old full-model view was too cluttered to read or present. We are moving away from the old diagram, and you can really understand what drives any number. The Model Map opens focused on a single variable and shows exactly what feeds it and what it feeds, so you can trace the logic behind an output, spot where a number comes from, and explain your model to anyone.

✨ What's new

  • A new Builder / Map switch lives at the top of every model. There are two ways in: click "Show variable in diagram" on any variable to jump straight to it, or open the Map tab and pick a variable from the structure panel. Either way, the Map centers on that variable and lays its dependencies out left to right, precedents on one side, dependents on the other.
  • A depth controller lets you set how many dependency levels to reveal upstream and downstream, independently, so you can follow a chain as deep as you need, from Units Sold to Net Income.
  • A left-side structure panel mirrors your sections, groups and variables so you can find anything in context, even variables tucked inside groups. Two more tabs list the external models connected to this one and the datasets feeding it.
  • Nodes now show each variable's location, logic type and dimensions; datasets appear as source nodes with their integration and last sync; and cross-model references render as external variables colored differently, so data lineage is clear end to end.
  • You can also read the logic behind every variable. Each node shows how it's calculated, whether that's a formula, a manual input, a moving average, an AI forecast or same-as-actuals. And for mixed-logic variables, where the calculation differs by dimension, you can now see the logic broken down per dimension, so even the most complex parts of a model are readable at a glance.
  • Right-click any node for its options:

    • "Filter by this variable" makes it the new focus of the Map, so you can pivot from one variable to the next to progressively investigate upstream or downstream dependencies.
    • "View in model builder" takes you back to the Builder with that variable selected. Selecting a node opens its info panel with description, configuration and dependencies, read-only.
  • Trace a path between two variables: click one, then another, and the Map marks the route connecting them.

⚑ One line per item. Less to fill, less to scroll

⚑ One line per item. Less to fill, less to scroll

The easier a space is to fill, the sooner the numbers come back to you. A vendor contract needs its active months and its cost. Until now, each of those variables took a row of its own: the same vendor repeated down the table, and the number you wanted to change buried among rows that all looked alike.

One click in the input table's setup turns on Pivot variables, and the table turns around. Items become the rows, variables become the columns. Your contributors choose the vendor once and fill in its dates, its cost, and anything else across that single line, then read the whole thing back in one go.

πŸ“„ Give the Agent your company's context

The Agent knows your numbers. Now it can know the story behind them too.

In the Library's Company Context section, admins can upload documents like board decks, budget narratives, and policies. When a question calls for it, the Agent finds the relevant document and grounds its answer in it, citing the file by name. Ask why a line came in below forecast, and instead of just describing the movement, the Agent can tell you the decision behind it.

β€’ Upload once, benefit everywhere: every user's conversations use the documents; only admins manage them.

β€’ Built for real documents: a 200-page board deck is indexed and searched, never pasted into the chat.

β€’ Pair it with the company description field: a short description of your business shapes every answer, so a healthy margin for your industry is read as exactly that.

Supported formats: PDF, TXT, and MD with readable text, up to 10MB per file.

🧹 Clear unused items in a click. Less noise, faster Abacum

Every dimension tends to accumulate items that you've stopped using, like old vendors, renamed accounts, or other leftovers from past mappings. Over time, these can pile up, crowding the lists your team selects from and slowing down your entire workspace.

Now you can clear them out in seconds. Abacum spots the items that aren't used anywhere and removes them in one pass. This means your vendor list shifts from a long, cluttered column to a concise list of the vendors you actively work with.

Faster everywhere, because lean dimensions load and calculate quicker across every table, report, and input. And safe, because it offers only genuinely unused items, and removes nothing until you say so.

🎨 Creating space content the easy way

🎨 Creating space content the easy way

Adding a table or chart to a space normally means building it by hand: the variables, the dimensions, the timeframe, the comparison. Now you can skip that and just describe what you want. Abacum Intelligence builds the block inline on your real data, and you drag it straight into any space.

✨ What's new

  • Generate tables, charts, KPI cards, and input tables from a prompt, or embed an existing dataset version.Β
  • Open a space and the AI Agent, describe the block you want (e.g., "revenue by location for Jan to Feb 2025 vs prior year"), then review it inline and drag it into the space or click insert. Adjust it from there as you would any block.
  • Point it at the right data: type @ in your prompt to reference a specific variable, version, or dimension. The more detail you give (the breakdown, the timeframe, the comparison), the closer the result.

Need a whole space rather than a single block? That's AI Spaces: describe the report you want and Abacum Intelligence builds the entire space in one go. Block generation is the same capability that powers AI Spaces and is available on its own whenever you just need one more thing.

🏒 Tell the Agent about your business

🏒 Tell the Agent about your business

Write a short description of your company once, and the Agent factors it into every answer for everyone on your team.

  • Answers judged against your reality. Ask "is our gross margin healthy?" and a B2B SaaS company sees 75% read as strong against software norms. A manufacturer sees the same number read against much thinner industry margins.
  • Written once, used everywhere. An admin adds the description in the new Company context tab in your Library. Every conversation in the workspace picks it up, with nothing to configure per user.
  • Free text, no forms to fill. A few lines on your business model, size, market, and what good looks like on your key metrics is enough.
  • Works with your numbers, not instead of them. The Agent still answers from your model. The description tells it how to read what it finds.

How to get started:

  1. Open the Library. Admins land on Company context by default.
  2. Edit the card and describe your company in a few lines.
  3. Ask the Agent a question that needs judgment, like whether a margin or a growth rate looks healthy.

This is the first piece of context you can give the Agent, and more ways to ground it in your business are coming.

πŸ—‚οΈ Organize your spaces with sections

πŸ—‚οΈ Organize your spaces with sections

You can now group your spaces into sections and reorder them directly from the space list, so the reports you need are easier to find.

  • Create a section, give it a name, then drag spaces into it or use "Move to…".
  • Reorder sections and spaces by dragging them.
  • Sections are managed by admins and leave your existing sharing untouched: people only see a section if they already have access to a space inside it.

πŸ“… Anchor a space to a month, automatically

The Actuals until control now supports relative time presets. Pick Current month or Last month in the picker, and the space follows the calendar without touching the setting each cycle.

✨ What's new

  • Two new preset options in the Actuals until picker: Current month and Previous month.
  • The resolved date rolls forward as the calendar advances, without admin action.
  • The header chip shows the resolved date and the preset name, e.g.,Β "Actuals until Mar 2026 (Current month)".

πŸ“Ž Bring your own business context into the Agent conversations

The Agent can now read the context of the documents where your decisions actually live. Attach a board deck, meeting transcript, offline spreadsheet, or policy doc to any conversation, and the Agent combines it with your Abacum data to answer as your real business context partner.

✨ What's new

A lot of the "why" behind your numbers sits outside the platform: the re-forecast discussed in a board deck, the hiring pause approved in a meeting, the covenant defined in an operating plan. Now you can bring that business context straight into the conversation.

Click the new attach button (+) in the Agent input, add one or more files with your question, and the Agent uses their content alongside your models and datasets, not instead of them. Each file shows as a chip on your message and stays part of the conversation for follow-ups.

πŸ“ˆ Impact

  • Cross-check documents against live data, attach your FY2026 board operating plan, and ask "What's the EBITDA burn covenant, how much have we burned to date, and how much headroom is left?" The Agent reads the covenant from the deck and pulls actual EBITDA from your model.
  • Validate reports at a glance,Β attach a P&L screenshot, and ask the Agent to compare it against the P&L in your Space.
  • Ground answers in your source documents, meeting transcripts, policy docs, and offline spreadsheets that become part of the Agent's context.

βš™οΈ How it works

Click + in the Agent input (side panel or expanded view), pick your files, and ask. Supported types: pdf, csv, xlsx, html, txt, md, and images (png, jpeg, gif, webp). Files are validated at upload, so if a file is too large or unsupported, you get a clear message upfront. You can always upload just the relevant tab or section. Attachments are scoped to their conversation only and never influence other conversations or users.
