🗺️ Model-level dependency view

Understanding how a model connects to the rest of your workspace is now instant. See everything feeding into a model and everything consuming it, all from one place.

✨ What's new

The model view now includes a dependencies panel that maps the full data graph around any model. You can see, at a glance, which datasets, dimension levels, variables, and version datasets flow into the model, and which models and Space components rely on it downstream.

Each entry appears once, deduplicated at model level, and links directly to its source. If a dependency is version-specific, a tooltip surfaces the relevant versions, so you always know the exact scope of the relationship without having to open each variable individually.

⚙️ How it works

As in any of the variable dependencies view, the panel is split into two sections.

  • Incoming covers everything the model pulls from: datasets, dimension levels, version datasets, and variables from other models via GET or Global Variables.
  • Outgoing covers everything that depends on this model: variables in other models referencing it, and the Space components consuming its variables.

Abacum is now a Built for NetSuite SuiteApp

We're live on the SuiteCloud Developer Network. Abacum's AI-native FP&A platform is now an officially certified Built for NetSuite SuiteApp, bringing real-time planning, forecasting, reporting, and scenario modeling directly into the NetSuite ecosystem.

✨ What's new

  • Tighter, certified connection between NetSuite actuals, dimensions, and Abacum's planning layer.
  • Faster install and provisioning for new NetSuite customers, with the security and governance standards expected from a certified SuiteApp.

⚙️ What it means for existing customer

If you're already running Abacum with NetSuite, your integration keeps working exactly as it does today. No setup, no reconfiguration, no action required.

Over the next few weeks, we'll migrate existing connections to the new SuiteApp with no business impact (no dataset changes, no downtime, no data-re-syncs, no impact on your close...) Your CSM will reach out before your account is moved.

🔗 Variable dependencies: now includes spaces and dimension levels

The Dependencies panel in the Model Builder just got more complete. You can now see, at a glance, every space component and every dimension level connected to a variable, alongside the variable and dataset dependencies already available.

✨ What's new

  • Spaces as outgoing dependencies. Changing or deleting a variable when you're not sure who's relying on it in Spaces is a real risk. The outgoing section now lists every table, chart, KPI card, and input table referencing the variable, each showing the space it belongs to, so you can check the impact before making any change.
  • Dimension levels as incoming dependencies. The incoming section now lists every dimension level the variable depends on, whether it's active on the variable or referenced as a filter in a formula. Each entry links to the dimension detail page, and where a dependency is version-specific, a tooltip shows exactly which versions it applies to.

⚙️ How it works

Both additions follow the same visual pattern as existing dependencies. Outgoing space components show the component name with the parent space as secondary text. Incoming dimension levels show the dimension level label with the dimension name as secondary text.

➕ Create new dimension items directly in the Input Table

✨ What's new

Plan for items that don't yet exist in Abacum without leaving the Input Table. You can now create new dimension items inline, directly from any input cell, ready to receive your numbers.

⚙️ How to set up

  1. Start typing in any dimension item cell in the Input Table.
  2. At the bottom of the dropdown, tap Create... to open the creation modal.
  3. Add one or several items at once. For multi-level dimensions, complete the full path.
  4. Tap Create to add the items to the dimension.

⚠️ Good to know

  • Creation respects the space filters in place: items can't be created in a dimension level used to filter the space.
  • New items are added to the dimension immediately and are available system-wide, even if you leave the Input Table without saving your inputs.

🔌 Import API: push data into Abacum from any custom or proprietary system

Working with a system that doesn't have a native connector? The new Import API lets you import data into Abacum directly through a single API call, no manual exports required.

This unlocks Abacum for any data source you previously couldn't connect: proprietary systems, internal databases, or custom data pipelines your engineering team controls.

✨ What's new

The Import API lets your engineering team load data into a pre-configured Abacum dataset on any schedule. It's offered through a new endpoint, POST /public-api/load-data, that accepts CSV files and loads them into a pre-configured dataset, processed through the same pipeline as native integrations.

⚙️ How it works

Configure the dataset once in the UI with Import API as the connection type and a sample file to define the typing layer. From then on, calls to POST /public-api/load-data route data straight into the right dataset.

The request takes the file, the dataset_code, and the months it covers. Use the optional override flag to replace data for those months, otherwise data is appended.

Learn more here: Import API.

📥 Download your full model data and logic in one click

Your model data is now available to export directly: actuals, version data, formulas, dimensions, and aggregations, all in a single file.

✨ What's new

You can now download the complete output of any model from the models list or directly from the Model Builder. Select your version, scenario, and time period, and Abacum generates a .xlsx file combining actuals and version data in one place.

For full model traceability, you can also choose to include the underlying logic (formulas, variable aggregations, and dimension settings) exported in a separate tab within the same file.

⚙️ How it works

Open the three-dot menu on any model in the models list, or use the top menu inside the Model Builder, and click Download model. A modal lets you configure the version, scenario, and time period before downloading. Once ready, the file downloads automatically and you'll get a confirmation in the notification center.

🔀 Reorder dimensions across variables in bulk

Until now, bulk actions let you add or remove dimensions but gave you no control over their order, forcing you to reorder each variable manually afterward. That's fixed. You can now reorder dimensions across multiple variables at once in the Model Builder!

✨ What's new

  • Select variables that share the same active dimensions and drag to reorder them all in one shot.
  • If dimensions are in different orders across variables, use Unify order first, then reorder.

⚙️ How it works

  • Select variables and open the Manage dimensions modal.
  • In Active in selection, drag (⠿) to reorder. Drag handles are disabled if any dimension in the selection is partially active or if dimensions are in different orders across variables.
  • If dimensions are misaligned, click Unify order first. Drag handles become available once aligned.
  • Click Apply and confirm any formula impact warnings.

➕ Duplicate multiple variables in one action

Select multiple variables in the Model Builder and duplicate them in a single action.

✨ What's new?

  • Select multiple variables via checkbox in the Model Builder, then click "Duplicate" in the action bar to clone them all at once.
  • Duplicates appear directly below their originals, following the standard "(1)", "(2)" naming convention already used by single-variable duplication.
  • Each duplicate inherits the full configuration of the original: formula logic, dimension assignments, section/group membership, formatting, and manual inputs.
  • If any selected variable has unsaved changes, a confirmation modal appears before the bulk action runs, using the new unsaved changes style.

Refreshed navigation bar

The sidebar gets a cleaner look and a slimmer footprint, giving you back valuable screen real estate.

✨ What’s new
We’ve redesigned the navigation bar with updated visuals, adjusted sizes and reorganized sections. Everything you use today is right where you expect it, just lighter and tighter. This is the first step in a broader navigation refresh, with more improvements landing in the coming months.

📈 Impact

  • More space for your work: a slimmer sidebar leaves more room for your spaces, tables, and dashboards.
  • A more modern look: on-brand visuals that feel cleaner and more mature.
  • Foundation for what’s next: sets the stage for upcoming navigation improvements.

✏️ Spaces keep getting better

We've been building on the foundation of Spaces 2.0 with a series of improvements that make writing, navigating, and editing reports faster and more expressive.

✨ What's new

  • Richer text blocks. Insert simple tables directly into a text block to display static content inline. You can also add emojis via the toolbar or by typing :keyword. 👉 Learn how to use tables in text blocks
  • Paste images straight from your clipboard into a Space with Cmd/Ctrl + V.
  • Mentions and tasks are easier to find. The / command and formatting toolbar now surface mentions and tasks directly. The mention menu has also been reorganized by category (people, variables, resources) and supports fuzzy search, so approximate spelling works.
  • Charts and tables in the navigation index. Titled chart and table blocks now appear in the "Navigate to" panel. No need to add a duplicate heading just to make a block navigable.
  • Select multiple blocks at once. Hold and drag to select multiple blocks, then delete, or reorder them in one action.

Spaces continues to evolve — more improvements are on the way!
