KPI Cards - Comparisons

Add your comparison to your Metric Cards!

Compare important key performance indicators (KPIs) against a version or a previous period in a visually striking manner ⚡

Like in tables, set a comparison against:

  • vs last period
  • vs the same period from last year
  • vs forecast
  • vs budget

Keep on using them by typing our command palette "/"

Rename dimension levels

No more unclear mapping fields! Take control and easily customize your  rename dimension levels ✍️

Gone are the days of confusion caused by using level labels in dimension mapping fields. By enabling personalized mapping headers, we improve the readability and clarity of the dimension mappings when building your reports. Once a dimension level label has been updated, the new label values are available for you to work with in all areas of the platform.

Create datasets for API integrations: G Drive

We understand the importance of empowering our customers to be more autonomous on our platform 💪 so we're happy to announce the latest features release:

Create Google Drive datasets directly from the Abacum web app 🚀

No need to rely on our support to handle the creation of these two integration-based datasets from the back office anymore!

After having the API integration setup for these services, you can then take charge and create your datasets autonomously, eliminating unnecessary delays and streamlining your data management process.

Formula calculation diagram for Actuals

Gain insight into your calculations with our advanced transparency featureFORMULA Calculation diagram

When modeling and performing variable calculations, understanding the processes behind value computation is crucial. Such transparency is not always readily available, and the time it takes to perform these calculations often remains hidden. That's why we have developed this new module builder feature to allow you to delve into the inner workings of your formulas.

Now you can visualize a calculation diagram that showcases each step in the variable calculation process to understand how a value is derived. By providing you with a clear graphical representation, including the performance metrics at each stage and the ability to download the results of each calculation, we enable you to gain valuable insights into the efficiency of your model.

This transparency opens doors to optimizing your model's performance, by being able to identify potential bottlenecks and pinpoint areas for improvement with ease.

Say goodbye to uncertainty and unlock the full potential of your calculations with the formula calculation diagram feature!

📝 Note: The calculation diagram is only available for the Actuals formulas at the moment. It will soon be available for the Version (forecast/budget) formulas too!

Override implicit filters in variables

Welcome a new level of flexibility in your modeling experience: Reference other dimension items within the same variable

For example, forecast the costs of Marketing by referencing the Sales department within the OPEX variable

Why is this important? 👀

  • Eliminate the need for duplicating variables, simplifying the modeling process.

Add new dimension items from the Dimensions page

Add new dimension items and their mappings directly from the Dimensions page ↙️⬆️↘️

For dimensions where you occasionally add new mappings manually, find a + Add button at the bottom of your dimension items list to create a new mapping row. After you type or select your items, simply click on 💾 Save changes and you're done!

New Resource Pages

🧪 New Resource Pages are here 🧪

We have implemented some improvements in our platform related to navigation🖱️

Some highlights of these refinements are the following:

1. Easier navigation through long-listed pages.

2. Better resource control - Who made the last changes? When were those made?

We are confident that these improvements will help you take the most out of Abacum than ever before. As always, we value your feedback and suggestions on how we can continue to improve our product.

Duplicate Modules

After enabling the possibility of deleting modules, we are proud to introduce our latest usability improvement in Abacum: Duplicate modules directly from the modules page 🔁

Some of the highlights of this release include:

1. Re-use already built data structures, saving you time and resources.

2. For learning purposes, get familiar with one of Abacum's core functionalities (modeling) without impacting other existing resources like tables, versions, or variable dimensions.

Click on the three dots option, on the right side of each module to start taking advantage of this functionality 🚀

ALLOCATE_DIRECT Function

Have you ever wondered how to add variables without losing non-shared dimensions? Allocate_Direct function is here! 🥁

How does it work?

Imagine having the following variables with different dimensions activated.

1. Salaries, with city and employee as dimensions.

2. Bonus, with only city as a dimension.

3. Total people cost = ALLOCATE_DIRECT Bonus BY Salaries, with city and employee as dimensions.

By using the ALLOCATE_DIRECT function, you can add the Bonus of each city to each employee's Salary to calculate the Total people cost, by city and by employee.

Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or comments.

Variables' dependencies in the Module Builder

No longer will you be burdened with reading lengthy formulas to trace the origin of your values. With just a quick glance, you can now effortlessly check the RELATIONSHIPS between variables 🔗

Click on a variable and go to the Relationships menu on the settings sidebar to examine each variable's dependencies, providing invaluable insights:

  • Sources: Identify where the data is coming from for the selected variable, including other variables within the current module, variables from other modules, or datasets.
  • Used by: Easily see what other variables are retrieving values from the selected variable, it could be both variables from the current module or variables from other modules.

We expect this new feature to empower you to quickly navigate through variables' dependencies, enabling a deeper understanding of your calculations to allow you to modify formulas with confidence and efficiently manage your variables.
