⚡ One line per item. Less to fill, less to scroll

⚡ One line per item. Less to fill, less to scroll

The easier a space is to fill, the sooner the numbers come back to you. A vendor contract needs its active months and its cost. Until now, each of those variables took a row of its own: the same vendor repeated down the table, and the number you wanted to change buried among rows that all looked alike.

One click in the input table's setup turns on Pivot variables, and the table turns around. Items become the rows, variables become the columns. Your contributors choose the vendor once and fill in its dates, its cost, and anything else across that single line, then read the whole thing back in one go.

🕵️ Track who changed a manual input, what changed, and when

You can now ask the Abacum Intelligence Agent for the full history of changes to your manual inputs: who changed a value, when, what it was before and after, and more.

  • Ask in plain language. For example, "List all the changes made in 'Inputs budget 2027' input table in the last 30 days", then follow up to narrow the results by person ("only the ones from Daniel"), variable ("only OPEX"), dimension item ("only the Product department"), and more.
  • Go straight to the source of a change. Instead of comparing versions by hand or asking around, have the Agent trace a specific movement back to the exact edit behind it, for example "Did someone change the Claude vendor expense in the Budget 2027 version?".
  • Everyone sees what they should. Super admins can access all changes, while admins and members can access their own.

✨ Faster inputs: choose one item, we'll handle the hierarchy

Planning across a Chart of Accounts or any multi-level dimension no longer means clicking your way back through the hierarchy. Pick the item you want, wherever it sits, and Abacum completes the rest of the path for you.

  • Pick the lowest level (the leaf) and you're done. The whole path above completes automatically from your dimension mapping.
  • Pick a middle level to finish everything above it, then choose the levels below.

A few things it handles for you:

  • Hidden levels: even when the table doesn't show every level, pick the item you need and Abacum fills in the hidden levels above it automatically.
  • New combinations: if the item combination you need isn't mapped in your dimension yet, you can create it on the spot, without leaving the table.
  • Respects your Space filters: the selector only offers items allowed by the Space, so you stay within the right scope and nothing gets allocated where it shouldn't.

🧩 Plan for new cost allocations directly in the Input Table

You can now duplicate any existing row and adapt it to plan for what's coming, without needing to know the full dimension structure from scratch.

What's new:

  • Start from a row you trust. Duplicate any existing row and use it as your starting point. Dimension items copy over, values don't.
  • Modify until it's yours. Update the dimension items to reflect the new cost allocation you're planning for. The table validates as you go.
  • Hidden columns handled for you. Even if some dimension columns aren't visible in your view, they're copied correctly, no guesswork required.

How to get started:

  1. Right-click any row in the Input Table
  2. Select Duplicate Row
  3. Edit the dimension items in the new row to reflect what you're planning for
  4. Enter your values and save

⚡ Auto-Generate Budget Templates Ready for Input

Your Input Table becomes a planning template, even for brand new budget lines.

✨ What's New

Before: If a variable had no actuals or manual inputs for budget or forecast versions, your Input Table would render empty, forcing you to manually add each row one by one.

After: Now, you can configure the Input Table to automatically display all valid dimension combinations as rows, ready for input.

How It Works:

  • Open the Input Table builder and go to Preferences
  • Set Rows From to "Dimension Combinations"
  • The table will display all valid rows based on your existing dimension structure (e.g., all Department × Vendors)
  • Budget owners can now start entering values immediately, no manual row creation needed

Try it: Activate this setting in the Input Table Preferences for any planning variable that doesn't have historical data yet.

🚀 Input Tables just got faster and smarter for planning

We’re improving the new Input Tables block to make it even more powerful and flexible.

Here’s what’s new:

  • Use formulas that reference other cells: Reduce manual typing, avoid mistakes, and create more dynamic plans by building calculations based on values already in the table.
  • Filter your Input Table: Navigate large tables faster and more efficiently by focusing on the data that matters. Apply filters directly within the Input Table in your Space using its dimension items.
  • Edit dimension items: Adjust how values are allocated by editing the dimension items directly in the Input Table.
