Autonomous integration management

We're excited to announce a significant update that puts you in full control of your integrations!

Security is paramount for us, and we understand that creating user accounts for our team or sharing credentials through any system can create significant friction.

We are launching a new section in our app that allows you to autonomously set up and manage any integration. This means you can now:

  • Securely set up new connections on your own.
  • Reauthenticate your accounts anytime if there are issues with credentials.

How does it work?

  • Go to the integrations section in the app.
  • Click on "Connect" to set up a new connection.
  • Manage existing connections by renaming, deleting, or reauthenticating them as needed.

Find all the details for each integration on our Abacum Academy.

Reach out to your Customer Success Manager to confirm if you have available slots and start integrating more data right away!

Switchover Date by Version

Let's say you're working on your monthly report for December 2023, but you also need to start building your budget for the next year. Currently, our switchover date is set at the model level, meaning you can't have your budget referencing December 2023 while your forecast updates with new actuals. This makes budgeting in Abacum tricky.

What's new?

Now, you have more control. You can set switchover dates at the version level, tailoring them for different needs. Want your forecast to update dynamically with new actuals while keeping your budget stable? No problem. Just head to the versions section, click "Edit", and choose "Auto" or "Custom" to specify the exact month for the switchover.

Learn more about this on Abacum Academy.

Example: Imagine you're using Abacum for both forecasting and budgeting. With the new version-level switchover dates, you can set an auto switchover date for your forecast, ensuring it adjusts with new actuals. For your budget, you might choose a custom switchover date to maintain stability, unaffected by future actuals syncs. This gives you the flexibility to manage your financial data the way you want.

This new development makes it easier for you to handle multiple use-cases simultaneously, improving flexibility and accuracy in your financial planning journey.

🚀Automated NetSuite reports retrieval! 🚀

We're delighted to unveil our newest integration: the ability to automate NetSuite reports retrieval!

  2. Prepare your reports: Structure your reports to meet our system requirements.
  3. Schedule exports: Set up scheduled exports based on your preferred frequency.

For detailed instructions, refer to this link.

Dataset and dataset columns dependency Insights!

In our latest release, we're excited to bring a new level of clarity and control to your data journey.

Understanding the utilization of dataset columns has historically posed challenges. Some dataset columns were "locked" due to their use in dimensions, measures, or transformations, hindering adjustment—a common struggle for users like you.

What's new? With our latest update, we've implemented a solution. You now have the ability to check outgoing and incoming dependencies on your datasets and columns through the info panel in the dataset sidebar. Initially, you'll receive a summary of usage, followed by a more detailed view of dependencies.

Improvement on GSheets Integration: Usage of tab ID instead of tab name

We have received valuable feedback from users who have encountered sync errors after renaming tabs in Google Sheets. This issue arose because the system relied solely on tab names as reference points, leading to difficulties in syncing the data when these names were changed.

So, what's the good news?

Now, when you establish a connection between a Google Sheet file and Abacum, we not only record the file ID but also the tab ID and tab name. This ensures that even if you decide to update your tab names or file titles, Abacum remains connected to the correct tab ID.

But what happens if you accidentally delete a tab? Initially, Abacum will attempt to locate the tab using its ID. If this proves unsuccessful, it proceeds to search for the tab name within the file. In the unlikely event that both methods fail to locate the tab, you will receive an error message, alerting you to the issue.
