🔒 PGP encryption support for S3 bucket and SFTP connections

We’re excited to share that S3 bucket and SFTP connections now support PGP encryption. This ensures your sensitive data is transferred securely when importing it into the platform.

✨ What’s new

  • You can now enable PGP encryption when creating an S3 bucket or SFTP connection.
  • Your public encryption key is available directly on your connection card (click the info button after enabling PGP encryption setting).

⚙️ How it works

  • Toggle PGP encryption during your S3 or SFTP connection setup.
  • Copy your public keyfrom the connection card and use it to encrypt any files you upload to the S3 bucket or send via SFTP.
  • Once uploaded, we’ll automatically decrypt your files using our secure private key during the import process.

Once enabled, all data shared through this connection is securely encrypted.

Models: Quick section Expand/Collapse & Pin formulas

We’re excited to announce two small improvements designed to make your day-to-day workflows smoother:

Expand / Collapse all sections

Available in the Variables column menu (click the three-dot icon at the top of the column), this option lets you quickly expand or collapse all sections in your model. Spend less time navigating and more time focusing on what matters!

Pin formula columns

Found in the Formulas column menu (click the three-dot icon at the top of the column), this option keeps your formula columns visible as you scroll through your data.

We hope these updates help you work faster and smarter. Stay tuned for more improvements coming soon!

📅 Calendar-based month picking in your formulas

We’ve improved how to work with month-based modifiers in your formulas!

Before, autocomplete could be confusing. When typing statements like IF CurrentMonth IS Jan or Variable.Jan25, the suggestions weren't always helpful. You might have seen a vague "MONTH" suggestion or a few specific months, but it was hard to know what to type or see all available options.

✨ What’s new?

Now, selecting months is intuitive and visual. Instead of guessing, you can choose months from a new calendar selector within autocomplete. This makes building formulas faster and clearer.

You can easily pick:

  • Recurring [month] (e.g., Jan for any January).
  • Specific [month] [year] (e.g., Jan25 for January 2025).

⚙️ How does it work?

When typing a formula that requires a month modifier (e.g., after IF CurrentMonth IS, or as a property like Variable.), the autocomplete suggestions will now display the Recurring [month] / Specific [month] [year] options.

  • For recurring months: Select the month name (e.g., Jan). from the calendar This inserts the modifier for that month in any year (e.g., IF CurrentMonth IS Jan).
  • For specific months: Select the month name and the desired year from the calendar (e.g., Jan 2026). This inserts the specific modifier (e.g., Variable.Jan26 or IF CurrentMonth IS Jan26).

New in models: ISBLANK() for handling blank values

Quickly check for blank values in your model formulas to simplify conditional logic and ensure accurate results.

✨ What's new?
ISBLANK() is now available in models to help you identify blank values in your formulas. This makes conditional logic clearer and ensures blank entries are handled correctly.

⚙️ How it works
Use ISBLANK() within an IF-THEN-ELSE statement to check whether a variable is blank:

IF ISBLANK(VAR) THEN [Result if blank] ELSE [Result if not blank]
  • Returns TRUE if the variable has no value
  • Returns FALSE if the variable contains any value, including zero

Models: Persist section collapse and expand states

Collapsed or expanded sections would reset after a refresh or navigation, requiring you to readjust the layout each time.

✨ What’s new?

A small quality-of-life improvement: section collapse and expand states are now saved per user and persist across sessions.

P.S. As shown in the video, the model builder skeleton also has a refreshed look and feel, now more closely matching the final loaded page.

⚙️ How does it work?
When you collapse or expand a section, that preference is remembered and automatically restored the next time you visit. By default, all sections are open on the first load.

🚀 Performance upgrade: Only refreshing what’s needed

We've delivered a major speed upgrade to make your experience faster and more efficient.

✨ What’s new?

The system is now intelligent about updates.

Previously, any change to your actuals data (like loading monthly numbers) or actuals logic (like changing a formula) would trigger a full refresh across all versions, even if some of them weren't affected.

Now, the system only updates the specific parts of your model that were actually impacted. It ignores the rest, saving significant time.

🎯 Expected impact

You can expect a noticeable speed boost and a smoother workflow when you:

  • Load new data.
  • Change actuals logic.

Internal testing shows this eliminates a massive amount of unnecessary processing. For some clients, this change will prevent up to 30% of unnecessary refreshes, meaning less waiting and a much more efficient experience when dealing with large models.

🧑 Headcount planning via the org chart

We’ve supercharged the org chart, transforming it from a read-only visualization into a fully interactive headcount planning tool!

✨ What's new?

Now, the org chart is more than just a visual map of your company's structure; it's a dynamic and interactive tool for headcount planning, where department heads can contribute in a more intuitive way.

You can perform all your headcount planning—forecasting changes, adding new hires, and seeing a complete employee data story—without leaving the org chart. It’s the fast, collaborative, and visual way to build your workforce plan.

⚙️ How it works

  • View the full story. Double-click any employee card to open a version dataset panel. You’ll see both actual data and forecasted changes in one clean view.
  • Add new hires. Click the ‘+’ button below any employee’s card to add a new role directly where it belongs.
  • Forecast changes with ease. In the version dataset panel, simply duplicate a row to visually model a promotion, salary adjustment, or any other change for an existing employee.

📈 New formula preset: Moving average

We’re excited to introduce the new "Moving average" formula preset, a powerful tool and shortcut for your building your models quicker. This preset allows you to calculate the average of a range of periods to analyze trends and performance over time. It provides options to define the averaging range and control how specific data (e.g., blanks or versions) is included in the calculation.

Key highlights

  • This preset is now available in the Formula presets dropdown, and can be used within versions.
  • Configuration options
    • Type selector: Relative or Fixed
      • Relative: Enables the selection of a dynamic time range, such as the last X months (default: last 3 months).
      • Fixed: Enables the selection of a static date range through a date picker, similar to the one used in Model Builder. If the end date is left empty, the moving average will be extend to current month automatically.
    • Additional options:
      • Exclude blank values: This checkbox allows users to exclude blank or null values from the average calculation. When enabled, only periods with data are included in the calculation. Example: if data exists for 2 out of 3 months, the average is calculated over those 2 months.
      • Exclude version values: An additional checkbox allows users to exclude version values and use only data from the Actuals version (up to the switchover date). After the switchover date, the latest available value is carried forward for subsequent months.
    • A new label will be displayed on the model builder when the moving average is applied to your variable or sub-dimension.

⚡ AI Forecast as a formula preset

We’ve made AI Forecast easier to use by adding it as a formula preset at the variable level for versions. You can now generate AI-driven forecasts directly where you work, with the same workflow you already use for formulas.

What’s new?

  • Easy access: Find and apply AI Forecast from the formula presets menu at the variable level.
  • Generate forecasts: See a chart of the current version, press Generate with your chosen granularity, and the system will create a time series forecast.
  • Save & apply: Press Save & Apply to save the forecasted values to your version.
  • Clear labeling: Saved variables are labeled “AI Forecast” in the model builder.
  • Simpler interface: The old entry point has been removed for easier navigation.
