Exciting News: Introducing Manual Adjustments in Datasets!

Take charge of your data like never before with our latest feature: Manual Adjustments in datasets. This functionality empowers you in the following ways:

  • Apply manual adjustments to your reported data without altering your source information.
  • Simplify the management of data from multiple accounting systems, saving time and streamlining your workflow.
  • Eliminate the need to rely on other departments to ensure data accuracy.

What's included in this feature?

With this release, you can:

  • Adjust existing data.
  • Insert new rows.
  • Duplicate rows.
  • Delete previously created rows.
  • Edit previously created rows.
  • Exclude rows.
  • Include rows back into your dataset.

Additionally, you can filter by status—original, created, or excluded rows—to easily locate manual adjustments. Plus, we ensure that changes are persisted upon synchronization, safeguarding your manually adjusted rows when there are no changes in the source data.

For more details, consult our documentation: Manual Adjustments on Datasets.

Typing layer filtering

As part of our efforts to improve your experience on data configuration, we've introduced a new filtering option. This feature enables you to navigate columns based on their status (confirmed, ignored, unconfirmed, or missing) and format (text, date, number).

Our goals with this improvements are to:

  • Simplify your navigation through dataset configuration, ensuring all necessary columns are included.
  • Empower you to verify that your data is in the correct format.
  • Speed up the process of locating missing and unconfirmed columns.

Custom Y axis in Charts

What?

Now, you can adjust your chart's Y-axis scale to better fit your data, providing greater control and accuracy.

Why?

Previously, our charts were limited by automatic Y-axis scales, which didn't allow you to manually adjust them to suit your needs. This often resulted in inconsistent data representations, especially when comparing charts or analyzing subtle changes. By introducing customizable Y-axis scales, we empower you to visualize your data more effectively.

How does it work?

  • In your chart's Visualization settings, look for the new "Custom Y axis" section.
  • By default, values are set Auto for both “Min” and “Max” fields.
  • In mixed charts with dual Y-axes, you can manually input values for both the minimum and maximum fields on each axis. To maintain coherence and ensure alignment of gridlines, slight adjustments are automatically made to the inputted values.
  • Simply input your desired minimum and maximum values for the axis.
  • Your chart will instantly adjust to the fullest extent to these changes, ensuring real-time adjustments.

Improved Typing Layer Navigation through Column Search

We're excited to announce the addition of enhanced search functionality to the Typing Layer! We understand that managing datasets with numerous columns, such as Salesforce or Hubspot, can be challenging. That's why we've introduced a new search bar feature to help you locate specific columns more efficiently.

Here's how it works:

  1. Search: Simply type the text you're looking for within the dataset.
  2. Filter: Only columns that match your search criteria will be displayed.
  3. Navigate: Easily find and manage the columns you want to edit, include, or ignore in your dataset.

This feature is now accessible both during dataset creation and in the Configure view, making it easier for you to streamline your data management tasks.

Single total in stacked charts with positive and negative values

What?

Now, when crafting a bar chart with stacked columns featuring both positive and negative values, we'll display a single total, summing all positive and negative values.

Why?

Previously, when you created a bar chart with stacked columns containing both positive and negative values, two totals were displayed: one for positives and one for negatives. This approach lacked clarity as it failed to visualize the unified total for the period.

How does it work?

Just create a chart with stacked bars, including a mix of positive and negative values, and by default, it'll generate a single total.

Activity Ledger

What's new?

We're pleased to introduce our enhanced audit log for tracking forecast adjustments. Now, every budget modification is going to be recorded, enhancing both accountability and accuracy in forecasting.

Why is this feature important?

Our users have expressed the need for better oversight and control over their Version data. So our commitment to transparency continues as we recognize the necessity for improved tracking capabilities.

How does it improve your experience?

Admin users are now able to monitor changes made by every budget owner. Now, you can track a variety of events in your Versions, such as:

  • Upload manual inputs
  • Edit manual inputs
  • Import Actuals
  • Replace manual inputs with formulas
  • Create, delete, and duplicate versions
  • Rename and edit version periods
  • Lock, unlock, set as active, or set as inactive versions

Note: While some events may not currently appear in the Activity Ledger, we are actively working to include them in the coming days. Moreover, this feature is currently undergoing a phased rollout. If it isn't visible yet in your instance, expect it to be available soon.

Zoom in Charts

What?

Allowing you to zoom in Charts

Why?

Until now, you were unable to zoom in for closer examination of specific data points. This is particularly useful for those charts in which you want to analyse a subsection.

How does it work?

  • You can simply pinch and drag on the chart to select the specific zone you want to zoom in on.
  • If you need to revert to the original view, there's a convenient reset zoom button available.
  • Plus, within a zoomed range, you have the freedom to zoom in even further for a closer look at the data, giving you ultimate control over your analysis.

Improved dataset structural changes management

We're excited to introduce an improvement to how you manage your dataset. Until now, any modifications such as renaming headers or removing columns caused frustrating user blockages, often requiring FP&A assistance. With this enhancement, we're putting the power back in your hands, enabling you to navigate these changes independently and efficiently.

How Does It Work?

  1. Column Removal:
Upon syncing your dataset, if a column has been deleted from the source, you'll receive a prompt notifying you of the missing column. You'll then have the option to seamlessly remove it from your data structure.
  2. Column Renaming:

If you rename a column, you'll observe both a new column and a missing column in your dataset. To address this, simply define the type of the new column and replace the missing column with the new one, eliminating the need for model adjustments.

Note: This feature is partially rolled out. If you don't see it yet, contact your implementation team or customer success manager. Learn more in the Academy.
