🧮 Constants in Actuals formulas

Building your Actuals formulas just got more flexible. The constant values you already use in Versions now work in Actuals too.

✨ What's new

You can now type a constant value directly as an Actuals formula. Enter a fixed value like 2000 to apply it across every period, use a conditional such as IF CurrentMonth IS Jan THEN 1 ELSE 0 to flag specific months, or use operators like MonthNumber and YearNumber on their own. It's the same syntax you already know from Versions, now available on the Actuals side. This makes it easy to express flags, multipliers, thresholds, and manual overrides directly in your historical data, keeping the logic inside Abacum instead of in external spreadsheets.

⚙️ How it works

Open the formula editor on the Actuals side of a variable and type the value or expression. The constant applies across the variable's actuals period. For variables with dimensions, the value is applied at the unallocated dimension item.
