Switchover Date by Version
Let's say you're working on your monthly report for December 2023, but you also need to start building your budget for the next year. Currently, our switchover date is set at the model level, meaning you can't have your budget referencing December 2023 while your forecast updates with new actuals. This makes budgeting in Abacum tricky.
What's new?
Now, you have more control. You can set switchover dates at the version level, tailoring them for different needs. Want your forecast to update dynamically with new actuals while keeping your budget stable? No problem. Just head to the versions section, click "Edit", and choose "Auto" or "Custom" to specify the exact month for the switchover.

Example: Imagine you're using Abacum for both forecasting and budgeting. With the new version-level switchover dates, you can set an auto switchover date for your forecast, ensuring it adjusts with new actuals. For your budget, you might choose a custom switchover date to maintain stability, unaffected by future actuals syncs. This gives you the flexibility to manage your financial data the way you want.
This new development makes it easier for you to handle multiple use-cases simultaneously, improving flexibility and accuracy in your financial planning journey.
