🔢 Introducing variable-level decimal control on model builder

✨
What’s new?
We are offering more control over data precision! Previously, decimal settings could only be configured at the table level and applied to the entire table, forcing you to choose between too much detail for some variables or not enough for others.
We are changing that. You can now define numerical precision at the variable level, ensuring your data always looks exactly as it should: from the Model Builder through to your final reports.

⚙️ How does it work?
  • Decimal setting: You can now configure numerical precision directly at the variable level within the Model Builder. This serves as the "source of truth" for your data's appearance.
    • All variables default to 2 decimal places, but you can adjust this setting from 0 to 6 decimal places.
    • You can select multiple variables to update their precision simultaneously.
  • Tables inheritance: By default, the system now respects individual variable settings when creating a new table, displaying “inherited from model” on table settings.
  • Granular override: You still have the option to override the model’s default at the table level for specific reporting needs. The table-level setting will always take precedence over the model setting.
  • âť—Backward Compatibility: To ensure existing tables remain consistent, any existing tables will remain unchanged and don’t inherit the setting from the model.

This feature is rolling out in batches. If you don’t see it yet, it will be available in the coming days. Contact your Customer Success Manager if you’d like to request activation.
