Tranformation editor improvements ⚒️

What's new?

We've released the first iteration of our transformations editor that will improve your experience when writing formulas and performing transformations. Before, you didn't have feedback on which formulas and syntax were available when making data transformations. Also, the limited space to edit and review formulas made it difficult to interact with the editor.

In this release, we'll now show you a pop-up within the editor that will allow you to:

  • Have an improved experience to visualise your transformations
  • Have more space to write, edit and review formulas
  • Search and filter through a library of Abacum's transformation formulas
  • Access formula descriptions to better understand their usage

How does it work?

Just like before, you click on the + symbol in transformations. In the new pop-up, you can select the column you want to overwrite or type to create a new column. Type your formula in the editor window, and copy and paste the example syntax from the formula library. Once you click "Continue" your transformations will show in the side panel, like before.
