On Monday, February 5th, we will be releasing a new Report Management page. This is accessible by clicking the Reporting Engine > Reports button. Reports can now be tagged and favorited with the ability to quickly filter using the drop downs at the top of the table or by clicking on a tag. Additionally, we have added new system reports which are available to all customers. These reports are configured with commonly viewed data that can be used on their own or copied and customized to fit your needs. They can be found by filtering for Owner = system-admin@ternary.app , Visibility = Ternary or by using the "System" tag. 

Users now have the ability to designate alerts based on an exact increase in spend over a period of time. For some time now Ternary has employed AI/ML to identify anomalous changes in cost that could then be further filtered by users to meet specific thresholds. This technology enables users to “automagically” take things like trends and seasonality into account, but we also realize that users/organizations, for several reasons, may want to alert on thresholds without the lens of AI/ML. Now, when creating alerting rules, users have the ability to bypass AI/ML anomaly detection.

We are pleased to announce an improved and more flexible dashboard experience. Starting today, you can use the "edit layout" option from the upper right corner drop down to customize the size and location of your widgets. This allows you to create simple or complex dashboards that provide quick visibility for any meaningful reports you have!  

On Wednesday, November 15th, we will be releasing an update to the current user roles which will provide two additional roles. With this change, there will now be Tenant Admin (previously Owner), Full Access User, Basic User (previously Regular User) and Limited User. There is no action needed to support this change as user roles will automatically reflect the updated names. For more detail on the specific access provided in the new roles, see our user roles write-up page. 

Starting today, you will see a new option in the top navigation bar, the global date selector! You can now set your date range using the global selector which will apply to all supported pages that you view in Ternary. This will allow you to compare different features using the same time period or quickly update all of the reports on a dashboard. For more information, you can read our full feature write-up here.

We are excited to announce that our GCP CloudSQL Insights page now supports Rightsizing Recommendations. These insights help empower your teams to not only understand their CloudSQL usage but also identify opportunities for cost savings. These recommendations will spark conversations among your teams about what they can do to reduce their CloudSQL costs. You can view your CloudSQL Rightsizing Recommendations by navigating to Insights > Database > CloudSQL > Optimizations. Currently, we support two recommendation types: Terminate Idle Databases and Downgrade Database Instance Class. We are excited to announce our latest release for enterprise user management, user groups and SSO assignments. With user groups, you can now configure a group that contains one or more scoped views which then map to a list of users. This reduces the time it takes to configure new users in Ternary. If you are using SSO, you can configure groups to be assigned using the data shared upon logging in to Ternary. We are pleased to announce our latest addition to the Ternary Reporting Engine, Time-Period Comparisons! You can now quickly compare metrics using our provided date options or specify a custom date. Comparison reports show a solid color for the current time period and a dashed line for the previous period. In the table data, you have a column for each date with the delta amount and percentage change in the bottom row. More details found on the time period comparison documents page.

Today, we have added a new button to Ternary's reporting engine. It is called the "Run Report" button which allows you to customize your measures, groupings and filters before requesting the results. Previously, the reporting engine would run a query with each change made to the report, which could cause a delay when selecting multiple groupings. You will see this button after the "Filters" selection option when configuring your reports. 

We’re excited to share that Ternary now supports Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Alibaba Cloud. With this update, Ternary extends support to five major cloud service providers, enabling even more flexibility for teams managing multi-cloud environments.
