We’re excited to announce that you can now view coverage details and recommendations for Microsoft Azure commitment discounts within the Ternary platform. 

With this release, we're introducing support for Microsoft Azure Reserved Virtual Machine Instances and Azure Savings Plan for compute. Purchasing and managing commitment-based discounts throughout their lifecycle are one of the most effective ways to save money in the cloud.

We’re pleased to introduce optimization support for Microsoft Azure SQL Databases! Our support includes:

• SQL Database (Microsoft SQL Server)
• Database for MySQL - Flexible Servers
• Database for PostgreSQL - Flexible Servers
• Cosmos DB for PostgreSQL

Accessible in the navigation under Resource Utilization, the insights pages enhance resource-level visibility with the addition of usage data. 

With this release, Ternary now provides recommendations to purchase a SQL reservation from Microsoft for your usage.

We’re pleased to introduce optimization support for Microsoft Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)! Accessible in the navigation under Resource Utilization, the insights pages enhance resource-level visibility with the addition of usage data. 

With this release, Ternary now provides node-level rightsizing recommendations for AKS. 

*Note: Workload-level visibility is not yet available.

We’re pleased to introduce optimization support for Microsoft Azure Blob Storage! Accessible in the navigation under Resource Utilization, the insights pages enhance resource-level visibility with the addition of usage data. 

With this release, Ternary now provides recommendations to purchase a Blob Storage reservation from Microsoft for your usage.

Note: Cost visibility is available at the storage account level. Container-level insights are not available from the data that Microsoft provides.

The Google Cloud BigQuery resource utilization page has been updated to more closely align with the insights reflected on the other service category pages. This update is part of an ongoing effort to surface BigQuery Edition data. 

The Optimization tab now reflects new optimization recommendations, including: 

• Reservation Baseline Utilization
• Reservation Max Utilization
• Storage Billing Model

For new users who are invited to Ternary and have not previously accessed the platform, an email will now be sent to you to set a password. 

Previously, new users could only access the platform by:

• Authenticating with a Google or Microsoft account
• Using corporate single sign-on (SSO)
• Clicking the ‘Sign Up’ button to set a password

Now, all users can have a password regardless of the other login method(s) they may use, as long as their email address is associated with the login method. 

We now provide the ability for users to log in to the Ternary platform with Microsoft accounts. 

We’re excited to announce that you can now navigate to any page within the Ternary platform by searching the name or related keywords. The Ternary Search engine can be found on the side navigation pane above the “Home” button or by simply pressing “/” on the keyboard. 

With the Ternary Search engine, you can quickly and easily: 

• Find specific reports, dashboards, and budgets 
• Jump to featured pages within the navigation (e.g., Compute Insights under Resource Utilization)
• Access the administrative pages (permissions required)
• Navigate via keyboard controls:
  • “/” to open and “esc” to close
  • Up and down arrows to scroll through the options
  • “enter” / “return” to select the page

We’re pleased to introduce compute insights for Microsoft Azure Virtual Machines! Accessible in the navigation under Resource Utilization, the insights pages enhance resource-level visibility with the addition of usage data. With this release, Ternary now provides usage optimization recommendations for Azure Virtual Machines.

The following recommendations will be made as applicable:

• VM rightsizing
• Unattached storage
• Shut down unused instances
• Use Ephemeral OS Disk if your workloads are stateless

We have added the ability for users to load unit economics data via the Ternary user interface. Previously, this was only available via BigQuery Table loads. Now, individual users can upload a .csv file with business inputs such as 'Active Users' or 'Transactions Processed' that can be married with cost data to determine a cost per unit of output.
