Update to Anomaly Detection - New Rule Controls

We’re excited to introduce new rule controls for anomaly detection. You can now archive and unarchive anomaly detection rules—perfect for temporarily disabling rules while fine-tuning configurations. Archived rules won’t trigger events and can be reactivated anytime.

In addition, admin and full-access users can now delete any anomaly detection rule or event, giving you greater control over your monitoring setup.

Update to Anomaly Detection - Linked Cases

We’ve enhanced our anomaly detection engine to streamline your investigations. Alerts now include direct links to any related existing cases, making it easier to assess context, track activity, and take action—all in one place.

Update to Forecasting – New Chart Display Options

We’re pleased to announce an update to the forecasting chart view. You can now choose between two display modes for greater control over data visibility:

  • Forecast with Lookback – See your forecast alongside historical data for added context.
  • Forecast Only – Focus exclusively on forward-looking trends without past data.

Select the view that best fits your analysis.

Shareable URLs for Reports

We’re excited to announce that report sharing is getting easier in the Ternary Reporting Engine. Starting next week, you’ll be able to share reports without saving them first. Whether you're building a brand new report or editing an existing one, your current report state will be persisted in the URL.

Just copy the link and share it. Anyone who opens it will see the exact same configuration you were working on.

Update to Anomaly Detection Alert Thresholds

We've added a safeguard to Anomaly Detection that requires users to set a minimum non-zero dollar amount for relative threshold alerts. If no minimum is specified, a warning will appear. This helps prevent excessive notifications from minor spending fluctuations.

Update to Anomaly Detection - Alert Details

The Anomaly Detection alert details table now displays the top 5 results based on the configured groupings in the alert. If no grouping is set, it defaults to the top 5 resources grouped by category and SKU description. This provides a quick view of the primary cost drivers, including usage amount and cost for the day of the anomaly.

Update to Dashboards - Support for up to 25 Widgets

We’ve increased the dashboard widget limit once again. In July 2024, we expanded the limit from 12 to 16. Now, we’re excited to announce that you can add up to 25 widgets per dashboard! This update gives you even more flexibility to visualize your data, track key metrics, and customize your dashboards to fit your needs.

Update to MSP Customer Management Settings

We’re pleased to introduce an update to MSP Customer Management Settings! MSPs (Managed Service Providers) offering FinOps as a service can now have more granular control over platform features for their customers.

What’s new:

  • MSPs can now customize settings on an individual tenant basis, instead of applying a global setting to all customers.
  • You can also create Custom Settings that automatically apply to all newly created child tenants.

To get started, visit the MSP Customer Management Settings tab and begin tailoring the experience for your customers, or read our documentation article to learn more.
